Danielle Lanyard maven (social, sustainability, etc...)
Danielle’s background in environmental study, community action, and business development began as a child in her NJ suburb.  With a B.A. in Community Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a minor in Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College, and one short semester at New York University, she traveled the world for five years, gaining international development work experiences. In Laos, she developed and taught the region’s first college course in Sustainable Development through partnership with environmental NGOs. She served as an Environmental Educator trainee in the Peace Corps in Senegal and later worked in Berlin as the Development Director for the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy.

Upon returning to the U.S., Danielle worked extensively with several social enterprise, tech and travel companies to build a foundation in business development that would compliment her lifetime experience in nonprofit and community development. She has leveraged that experience to co-found Open Venture Society and Travelcology. She currently resides in the East Village, can be found breaking the interwebs on her site and tweeting away on Twitter.
