Travelcology created MTB Ayiti, the first international bike race in Haiti, to showcase the country as an adventure travel destination spot. Participants were able to make a significant positive impact merely by showing up to race and spending money. 82% of the event budget was spent locally, and lasting impacts include 3 local mountain bike rental shops, 8 trained mechanics, and 20 mosaic trail markers! There have been 33 articles in international publications about the race, some of the most positive press in 3 years since the earthquake.
